High-Performance Computing of Drug Delivery on Distributed Memory Parallel Computers
Drug delivery in human body is a very important and complex process, which
involves blood flow, drug transport in circulation, drug diffusion
through the vessel wall and molecular binding --- a series of biochemical
reactions. Such a process is time dependent, which may take hours or days to
take effect. Computer simulation of the process occupies lots of computer
resources and may take hours of CPU time on a single processor in a workstation.
To accelerate the solution speed, we designed some efficient parallel algorithms
that work in a distributed computing environment by domain decomposition.
